Selenium and Vitamin E Cancer Prevention Trial

The Iowa Oncology Research Association is one of 300 research centers that is participating in SELECT, a prostate cancer prevention study.  SELECT is funded by the National Cancer Institute, the U.S. government's principal agency for cancer research.  

SELECT is evaluating the effect of selenium and vitamin E on the incidence of prostate cancer.  The research study will determine whether these two substances help to prevent prostate cancer.

The study reached it's accrual goal of approximately 32,000 men nationwide, with 241 men enrolled locally through the Iowa Oncology Research Association.
